THIS IS A PORTRAIT STUDY OF MY GRANDMOTHER. I DID IT AS A PRESENT FOR HER NAMEDAY IN 2012, A COUPLE OF YEARS BEFORE SHE SUDDENLY PASSED AWAY,

THE PHOTO WAS TAKEN BY ME, DURING OUR VACATION AT OUR SUMMER HOUSE IN GREECE. THIS WAS MY FAVORITE PURPLE DRESS, IT SUITED HER SO MUCH. I TOOK A THOUSAND PHOTOS OF HER THAT DAY. IN MOST OF THEM SHE WAS SMILING LOOKING AT THE CAMERA, BUT I CHOSE THIS PERSPEKTIVE; I WAS ON THE TABLE TAKING THIS PICTURE! I LOVE  THIS ANGLE,  THE CHAIR LOOKS LIKE A THRONE AND SHE LOOKS LIKE A QUEEN GAZING AT HER ROYAL GARDENS, A BIT BORED OF ROYALTY, DEEPLY YEARNING TO FEEL FREE OF ANY OBLIGATION AND RUN WILD.

I AM REALLY HAPPY SHE HAD THE CHANCE TO SEE IT  BEFORE SHE WAS GONE.

MATERIALS:  ACRYLICS ON COTTON CANVAS.

DIMENSION: 70 x 100 x 2 CM
